Fix: Next.js 16.0.7, Blog fixes

Update: Next.js 16, Blog refactoring

  • Next.js 16, Sanity 4.16;
  • Major Blog restructuring: The Blog section has been moved from the page builder to a dedicated post-index for improved maintainability and compatibility with Next.js 16. Next.js 16 now accurately distinguishes static (SSG) and server-side (SSR) pages; previously, some pages using search params were incorrectly marked as SSG in Next.js 15.
  • To migrate from old Blog page, copy your Section Header from the Blog Pages to the Blog Landing under the Blog section in Sanity, and select your preferred Posts Layout Variant.
  • Added Redirects and Rewrites, located in the Settings section. Changes to redirects or rewrites require a redeployment, as these are generated during the build in next.config.mjs

Update: Navigation update, packages, fixes

  • Move Header and Footer from Navigation to singletons. Old Navigation is removed from Sanity - check migration folder to migrate navigation data to new structure if you used old one;

  • remove references from demo pages for easier deletion of demo content (only linked in header).

FAQ

Common Questions & Answers

Find out all the essential details about our platform and how it can serve your needs.

1

What is Sanityblocks?

Sanityblocks is a premium Next.js + Sanity page builder template built with shadcn/ui components. It gives you a production-ready foundation with 80+ composable blocks, 8 unique demo homepages, real-time content editing via Sanity Live, and full support for Sanity Content Agent and MCP.

2

Who is this template for?

Sanityblocks is built for developers and teams who want to ship high-quality marketing sites and landing pages quickly. It is ideal if you want a structured content system (Sanity), a modern React framework (Next.js 16), and a polished design system (shadcn/ui) — without spending weeks wiring them together.

3

How many demo homepages are included?

The template ships with 8 unique demo homepages, each showcasing a different layout and visual style. All demos are built from the same set of 80+ reusable blocks, so you can mix and match sections across any page.

4

Can I customize the blocks and styles?

Absolutely. Every block is built with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, making them straightforward to restyle. From Sanity Studio you can control padding, layout variants, alignment, and more per block — no code required. For deeper changes, the source code is fully open and structured for easy modification.

5

What is Sanity Live and how does it work here?

Sanity Live is a real-time content delivery feature that pushes content updates to your site instantly — no page reload or redeployment required. In Sanityblocks, every page and block is wired to Sanity Live out of the box, so editors see changes reflected immediately in the browser as they type.

6

Does it work with Sanity Content Agent and MCP?

Yes. Sanityblocks is fully compatible with Sanity Content Agent and MCP (Model Context Protocol). The schema is structured to allow AI agents to read, write, and manage your content directly from the studio or via API. A GitHub Action is included to deploy a hosted Sanity Studio with Content Agent enabled by default.

7

How do I deploy the template?

Clone the repository, connect your Sanity project, and set your environment variables. A GitHub Action is included that automatically deploys your Next.js site and a hosted Sanity Studio (with Dashboard and Content Agent enabled) on every push. Full setup instructions are in the repository README.
